Topic: God's Plan For You

Notes:


Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV); “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”


There are 5 simple steps to learn his plan. Though they are not exclusive,  believe they work:

1. ) ASK. You want wisdom? In James 1:5-6 it says to ask God for it. But you have to believe God will give it to you. Most of us have a tendency to try and figure things out on our own.......But God is says, “Hello, I’m here. I made you. Trust me.”

2.) BE FAITHFUL WHERE YOU ARE. God will not give you greater opportunities or responsibilities if you aren’t faithful with what He has already entrusted to you in the smaller areas of your life. In Matthew 25:21 (NIV),  "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'.  We have too serve GOD cheerfully, gratefully, faithfully, wherever we are, no matter where our life may be at the moment.

3.) LISTEN. We should continue to study and pray (and even fasting), watching for insights from God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. Other trusted believers in GOD can also help balance our perspective. But in the end, God and his word never changes. (Malachi 3:6, James 1:17). God will not “tell” you to do something that is against his righteous character or contrary to the principles in his word. His word is powerful, bringing instruction, correction, training, and equipping us thoroughly “for every good work” as it tells us in (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Trying to make decisions without consulting God or his word is like trying to find our way through a dark tunnel without a flashlight.

4.) WAIT. Waiting is not always easy, brothers. God sometimes gives us more than one good choice. So has any of you brothers been trying to make a choice on something, considering the options, but had no answers. You waited and prayed. But right before you finally made the decision, God had eliminated one and cleared the way for the other.    (Romans 5: 3-5 (NKJV) "And not only  that,  but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

5.) OBEY. Simply keep doing what you know to do, day in and day out. Stay faithful, keep growing, stop worrying, and obey God with the light that He has given you.  (Psalm 32:8 ) “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”

Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life. (Proverbs 4:23 NCV)

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV)

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8 NIV)
